New Mama's Must Haves
Modern Moms, we have access to so much research regarding parenting, we can find products to help ease the process of parenting and we have amazing support groups to help us get through parenting's most challenging moments.
Being a mother is hard. There are no other words for it. The transition is like no other. There may be moments that are easy, but overall the journey will throw curveballs at you, forever. The best advice I have to offer is just to be confident in your parenting and yourself.
Since my daughter was born 2.5 years ago, we have been traveling 6-9 months out of every year for my husband's professional baseball career. Being a first time mom in a not so typical lifestyle, has been difficult. However, I can say it has helped me grow as a woman and a mother.
My human nature compels me to make life a “little” easier for others through my experiences. I have created a list of must-have baby items, that may make your motherhood journey a little more simple.
While people may recommend you not give your child a pacifier, that is your decision, don’t give them the power to make that decision for you.
I am not an expert when it comes to this topic however I did my research and was and am comfortable with my child having one. I understand there are other soothing techniques but I did what worked for us.
It doesn't hurt to have a few different brands handy in case that is one of the ways that helps your baby feel secure & comforted
This was great for us because we spent the last few years traveling on planes, at ballparks, and in hotels, all breeding places for germs! We have also spent hundreds of dollars on pacifiers over the last 2.5 years, (not kidding) because we lose them so often.
The clip will help keep the soothie attached to your little Lovie and won't have you searching for it when they decide to throw them.
Pacifier clips should be used with supervision and should not be slept with.
We tried EVERY SINGLE sleep sack/sleep technique there was on the market. I know a lot of people say this but my daughter was and still is the worst sleeper, EVER.
We found the Nested Bean weighted sleep sack worked best for us. Depending on the model you buy you can swaddle or zip the baby in and there is a small weighted sack on the chest mimicking your gentle touch to help your Lovie feel comfortable and secure. Based on your babe's age, you can buy different sacks!
SAVED MY LIFE. my daughter was colicky and very few things soothed her. The Shusher helped lower my anxiety AND Charlotte's. I was so tired from making the "shushing" sound I needed another option. A mama friend told me about this amazing device that would do the work for me!
We use a sound machine in Charlotte’s room but when we are traveling we grab the Shusher and always have it nearby. It is small, runs on batteries, and attaches to a diaper bag, car seat, stroller, etc. Perfect for traveling!

Picture a fold-up lawn chair you would take to a little league baseball game or you would sit around the fire with, the is the same thing just a mini version and it comes with a tray!
We love this chair because as soon as Charlotte was big enough to sit well, we could strap her in essentially anywhere and she could eat her food with a tray. This worked well for us traveling all the time to new apartments and hotels because we could set this chair up for her to eat or play in and we knew she was safe under the supervision and we knew that we could pack it in our suitcase or just throw it in the back of the car in the bag it comes in!
We have spent so many hot nights at the ballpark since the time my daughter was 5 months old. Our saving grace in that heat was our portable mini fan that clipped to her stroller. Not going to lie, I found myself using it too!
The fan has a strong clip allowing it to attach to a car seat, stroller, diaper bag, chair, etc. and is rechargeable.
Backpack Diaper Bag
There are so many options for diaper bags at such different price points. Backpack diaper bags are so common now because they make carrying all your essentials a little easier. They are easier to carry and help keep your hands free.
We travel a lot and having the backpack allowed me to have both hands on my stroller or toddler at all times. I will also say it was much less weight on my shoulders having the bag even everything out.
Another nice thing about backpack diaper bags is a lot of them are transitional so they can be carried as a purse/one shoulder bag as well.
This specific one has 7 different ways it can be carried/used.
Bella Tunno - Lettie Lovie Children’s Co
Silicone bibs are usually dishwasher safe and can be wiped clean and disinfected so easily. You don’t have to worry about them staining either, which is great.
Most silicone bibs are adjustable around the neck making them great transitional pieces as your Lovie grows. You also can find these silicone bibs with a pouch at the bottom which catches all your little one’s messes.
Silicone is a durable material and made to last.
Lettie Lovie Children’s Co
Not going to lie, grossest thing ever, but we never travel without it. The Nose Freida is a tube with a “straw” and a mini-filter that you stick into your child's nose and literally suck the snot from your kid's nose.
Yes, it’s disgusting, but the amount of snot you can get from your Lovie’s nose is impressive, so impressive we lost two of them and bought a third one. Absolutely worth the price.
This product is so good for babes that aren’t sure how to blow their nose yet, basically, mama is doing the blowing for them by sucking their brains out!
